Idea I have not seen any on ebay but looking at the design and since i have grown up around boats i would not be affraid to try a navy anchor or a self releaising anchor comonly used on sail boats you can test it by just running a 90 with a block and try it so if it breaks you dont smash up the vehicle. id give it a try and you could be good to go for 100bucks or less
but the theory is sound you just need to know what the breaking point of the anchor is. I am not talking about those crapy mushroom things. as you pull a navy anchor it digs deeper due to the angle; But then again it might not work. http://www.go2marine.com/category.do?no=12417

Thanks, Ryan. I've heard for years now, that a Danforth anchor will do the job. I'd kinda like a Pull Pal if I could get one at a decent price. They appear to be fairly store-able as they come apart. Thanks for the tip!

I think that is the Achilles heel of the Pull-Pal.

Even though the body and spade are easily separated to improve storage, the resulting package is quite large and heavy. At around 40 pounds and 45 inches in length , the RW11000 (the model appropriate for our trucks . .) is not easily stored.

I considered various options for transporting a Pull-Pal inside the truck and could not arrive at a suitable, safe one. I concluded that the only viable option was to stow it somewhere on the exterior of the truck -- your mileage may vary . .

As a point of interest, Pull-Pal is now offering a bag designed to stow the tool properly, this might make it slightly more suitable for stowing inside a vehicle.

TNX Bruno. Good information to know! I'll look into that web address you posted.

Thanks, again,
